The Segura basin (CHS) will invest 228,745 euros in the preparation of the river Mula and improving its flow in the municipality of Campos del Río.
The president of the CHS, José Salvador Fuentes Zorita, visited the area with the mayor of the population, Miguel Navarro, first-hand to present the project.
The work aims to restore the river and the riverside path, which have been damaged by the floods, and prepare them for the enjoyment of residents and visitors, so included the completion of two playgrounds.
Finally, we improve the conditions of high passes over the river to avoid problems when there are avenues.
Moreover, this action is part of the strategy of comprehensive recovery CHS Mula River, developed in the municipalities that crosses this tributary of the Segura from its source to the mouth.
As regards the first part of the project, is clearing the channel to hinder the collapse of plants which can cause flooding, while respecting the protected species.
It also will outline the slopes with a trapezoidal shape and will be applied to the channel slope, the two measures to improve drainage.
The basin organization has provided the service road has a width of four meters to ensure their use as access to the river area, rather than walk and celebration of sports.
In this sense, we have devised two entertainment areas with street furniture, bins and exercise circuit panels complemented indicative of the movements to be performed, and other panels devoted to the description of the fauna.
The service road will be repaired and widened to four feet wide, to allow both the passage of people as the sporadic use of vehicles.
The overpasses will be replaced precast concrete frames, which prevent the stagnation and improve the hydraulic capacity of the channel.
