The Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities collaborate with the city of Campos del Río in the work of reorganizing the Municipal Archive, which include transfer of files and documents to unify them in a single location or description of funds for proper classification.
The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Maria Comas, today visited the town accompanied Regional Archive technicians to schedule the transfer of documents and providing the technical support needed to begin work on the documentary description.
During the visit, which was accompanied by the mayor of Campos del Río, Miguel Buendia, Director General explained that the documents will be relocated and consolidated in the first floor of the old town hall and part of the ground floor of the Municipal Library.
"Work has already begun, and the technicians of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities visited a few months ago the various buildings in which the file was located so far for, along with municipal officials to decide the new location," said Maria Comas.
Specifically, the Municipal Archives of Campos del Río was distributed far from the new city hall, where the last municipal management records are kept, the building of the old town hall, known as Casa de Dona Ginesa containing records in one room on the first floor, and the building of the Public Library, which has a space that is used partly as a documentary file.
After that first inspection, it was decided to perform architectural studies to see if the old town hall, where it was decided to unify the file, let stand that overweight.
Following this study, the municipal officers also agreed to use part of the ground floor of the Municipal Library.
During the visit this morning began to program the service of documents and records, which will be held once a small refurbishment works carried out in the chosen buildings.
In addition, we have established the basis for how the file will be organized and analyzed the technical support necessary to carry out the work of documentary description contained in the Municipal Archives.
