The processional parades of Holy Week 2018 of Campos del Río toured the main streets of the municipality with the participation of hundreds of campers and campers who did not want to miss the annual appointment with the most representative images of their Week of Passion.
The first of the processions was celebrated on the night of Holy Thursday where the image of Our Father Jesus Nazareno with the cross on his back, popularly known as Christ of the Cross, the work of the imaginary Roque Lopez, disciple of Francisco Salzillo, made his station of penance in the procession of Silence, crossing the streets of the municipality carried on its shoulders by twenty portapsasos.
At the end of the procession came the time of the Holy Hour and Vela before the Sacred Monument that lasted until the first hour of the morning.
On the night of Good Friday, the procession of Santo Entierro took center stage in the streets of Campos del Río, where every year is the most multitudinous processional parade of the entire Holy Week, which included the participation of a total of five images carried on the shoulders by more than a hundred portapasos that were accompanied by the processional marches of the Musical Group, Band of Drums and Bugles, Agnus Dei.
The processional parade was opened by the image of Our Father Jesus Nazareno, after him, the Cross arrived, the throne of the Christ Yacente that was carried on shoulders exclusively by women, after the procession parade continued, the image of San Juan and closed the procession of Good Friday the manolas that preceded the image of Our Lady the Virgin of Los Dolores.
The last of the processions of Holy Week 2018 was held under a festive atmosphere on the morning of yesterday, Easter Sunday, the procession of the Holy Encounter where The Heart of Jesus met the Virgin of Beautiful Love, moment that He lived with special emotion and devotion for hundreds of campers who took to the streets.
From the City of Campos del Río has made a very positive assessment of the Holy Week 2018 which has highlighted the high participation of penitents and the general public who have participated in the processional processions and liturgical events held, as well as the absence of incidents in these holidays.
The mayor of Campos del Río, María José Pérez Cerón, on behalf of the entire Government Team, present at the procession parades, wanted to publicly congratulate and recognize the effort "of all the brothers who have made it possible for our processions to leave to the street to the delight of campers and visitors ".
He also wanted to have words of thanks for the Brotherhood of San Juan Bautista, its president, the Agnus Dei Music Group, the parish priest Don Diego and the parish collaborators, Antonio Alfonso Guevara, this year's preacher, as well as all the campers and campers that have participated in our Holy Week 2018.
