Under the motto, 'For Equality and for the eradication of the Salary Gap between men and women', a hundred rural and camperos have concentrated this afternoon at the door of the City Council to participate in the reading of the manifesto on the occasion of the International Day of the Woman that is commemorated today March 8.
Among the events organized in the Women's Week, the mayor of Women, Antonia López, along with other members of the Government Team, different groups of Campos del Río, Associations of Women and Widows, students of the CEIP San Juan Bautista , and members of the Dinamización group, have read this morning the protest manifesto to defend and remind society in general of the rights of women and where the emphasis has been placed on "today March 8 we celebrate an important day for the society, International Women's Day, but we also celebrate the struggle for equal conditions between both genders and demand the eradication of the wage gap and real equality in all areas of society between men and women.
Today we also want to take the opportunity to recognize and make visible the work and effort of so many women who, at the individual and collective level, struggle from different areas to ensure that women and men have the same opportunities and are treated equally.
But it is also time to remember that equality requires a permanent commitment and work that must be an expression of the sum of wills and actions of public authorities, civil society organizations and citizens. "
The commemoration of the 8 M in Campos del Río has been completed with the celebration of a Breakfast of Monas con Chocolate at the headquarters of the Women's Association, Representation of the play 'Esto es un Asalto' at the CEIP San Juan Bautista and that this afternoon will be put on stage for all audiences in the Park Station.
The day will end with a coffee and the awards ceremony of the Poetry and Poems contest 8 March.
