The mayor of Campos del Rio, María José Pérez Cerón, met this morning at the Palace of Justice with the president of the Superior Court of Justice of the Region of Murcia, Miguel Pascual del Riquelme.
Accompanied by the new Justice of the Peace of Campos del Río, Antonio Pérez Sandoval and the accidental secretary of the consistory, Francisco Pérez Abenza;
They have dealt with different matters related to the functions of the administration of justice in the municipality and the municipality itself, such as the organization and workload that supports the justice of the peace of Campos del Río, composed only of the owner and a secretary who is They are in charge of processing and giving vent to the matters requested by the inhabitants of the municipality to which the letters rogatory received from the Murcia II penitentiary located in the municipal area of ​​Campos del Río are added and which sometimes even exceed in number to those received by the citizens of the municipality, in addition to those required by the residents of the municipality's elderly residence.
There is the added circumstance that inmates are considered inhabitants of the municipality in terms of the performance of functions of the justice of the peace, without being really inhabitants thereof, since they are not registered in Campos del Río.
"The workload derived from the service to the inmates is not taken into account at present, nor in the economic compensation received by the staff that attends them, nor by the City Council that pays the expenses of the same, both in personnel and in media, municipal offices, postal services, etc. "affirmed Pérez Cerón.
At the end of the meeting, the first mayor has thanked the president for his attention and interest in the study of the issues addressed, as well as the rapid contribution of effective conclusions to provide a viable and sustainable solution over time to these important issues affecting the municipality.
Antonio Pérez Sandoval, new Justice of the Peace of Campos del Río
The meeting this morning also served to officially present the new justice of the peace of the municipality who was appointed last December and who was proposed by the town council for the position.
The mayor has had words of recognition for the new head of the court of peace, stating that "Pérez Sandoval is a professional with many years of experience who knows the municipality and all cases and also contributes to Campos del Río guarantee and solvency in his good work ".
For his part Antonio Pérez Sandoval has made an assessment of the meeting calling it "very productive" while thanking the receptivity and collaboration of President Pascual del Riquelme.
"The Peace Court of Campos del Río is small and supports administrative issues that must be resolved urgently and in this meeting we have found the necessary guidance to resolve them as soon as possible."
Regarding his first days in charge of the peace court, Pérez Sandoval stated that "I am focused on resolving outstanding workload issues in order to make the functioning of the court more productive and the administration to be more agile, since in the past has been administratively misdirected. "
And he concluded by announcing that "very soon we will be able to give a better response to the procedures demanded by citizens".
