The first deputy mayor, Antonia López and Councilor for the Environment, Juan Mateo Flomesta, accompanied by other members of the municipal corporation, visited yesterday the works in execution of the roundabout located at the intersection of the RM-531 road that gives access to the industrial estate 'The Cortijo' in the municipal term of Alguazas.

The meeting was attended by the general secretary of the Ministry of the Presidency and Development, Yolanda Muñoz, the general director of roads, José Antonio Fernández Lladó and the mayor of Alguazas, Blas Ángel Ruipérez.

The campesino councilors were able to verify the execution of these works which are a further step towards the settlement of the road linking Campos del Río with the neighboring municipality of Alguazas, which is why Antonia López took the opportunity to talk with the regional authorities and transmit them the concern in the municipality for the beginning of the necessary works of arrangement of this road while he recalled that "from the City Council we are waiting to receive the definitive project of RM-531 which is already done but incomprehensibly , the Town Hall have not yet been communicated from the general direction of roads.

Let's hope that partisan interests are not behind these delays and that they are not intentional since the current danger on the road can cause traffic accidents as we have been publicly denouncing for more than two years and if they occur, they will be the judicial authorities are responsible for unjustified delays in the road project.

We continue to wait for written confirmation from the counselor of the final documentation, prior and necessary step to give it feasibility and that the works can be executed as soon as possible, being the arrangement of RM - 531 by Campos del Rio, a priority for this Government team, as we demonstrated once again a few weeks ago, when we made available to the counseling, all the necessary data and related to the lands of our municipality affected by the works of the layout of the RM - 531 ".

Finally, López has pointed out that from the municipal government team "we hope and trust that in the coming days the counseling and general direction of roads will send us all the necessary documentation to complete a process that will bring us closer to the beginning of these works so demanded historically as well as necessary for the road safety of our neighbors who transit through this road on a daily basis and that is the way that connects us with the municipality of Alguazas.
