In the afternoon yesterday the exhibition 'A school to improve the environment' of the science project winner of the prize awarded by the Seneca Foundation of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena was inaugurated to the students of 6th grade primary school of CEIP San Juan Bautista de Fields of the River.
At the ceremony attended by the mayor of the municipality, María José Pérez Cerón, accompanied by the director general of Attention to Diversity and Educational Quality of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports;
Esperanza Moreno and government councilors, were students from the educational center, parents and representatives of the educational community of Campos del Rio.
During the inauguration, the project manager showed the authorities the different spaces of the exhibition that makes a tour of the work done during this course by the students of 6th grade where they can see the most outstanding activities of the environmental project as well as The conclusions obtained with the realization of several workshops related to this subject that have the students of CEIP San Juan Bautista deserving of the prize granted by the UPCT.
The mayor of Campos del Río, María José Pérez Cerón, had words of thanks to Professor Juan Diego "for his initiative that has reverted throughout the school, a motivating and research initiative that makes us think about circular economy and provides an experience of Knowledge and respect for the environment.
I also want to congratulate the parents of the students of the school for their involvement and dissemination in this activity and above all for obtaining the deserved prize and recognition of this important work by the UPCT.
The mayor concluded her speech by showing the educational community "the maximum collaboration they find in their town hall that supports them in carrying out motivating and stimulating activities such as the one we inaugurate today and that serve for all our children continue educating and can aspire to a Equal opportunities in the future ".
On the other hand, the Director General of Attention to Diversity and Educational Quality, Esperanza Moreno congratulated the students of the educational center "for its entrepreneurial and innovative character and its teachers for the work of active methodologies that are reflected in this project which is a Sample of the improvement in the educational quality of the centers of our Region ".
The exhibition can be visited with free admission until next July 28 from 20 to 22 hours.
