Campos del Río celebrates during these days its patron saint festivities in honor of San Juan Bautista.
On the patron spoke last Friday Francisca Sales Palazón, catechist and sacristan of the parish, which at the request of the City Council proclaimed the patron saint festivities.
Francisca has been a catechist for 43 years in the parish, a woman "greatly loved in the village," explains the pastor, Diego José Fernández Expósito.
"The City Council wanted to highlight Christian values, service without expecting anything in return that represents 'Paca de Sales', as popularly known in the village.

The mayor of Campos del Rio, María José Pérez Cerón, was in charge of introducing the preacher of which she emphasized that she is an example to follow: "You have been and you are the teacher of catechists, the teacher of altar servers, the servant of all Our saints, the speaker of our dreams, the perfect mistress of our ecclesial treasures, you are the perfect meritorious and the best representative of the work of the Catholic Church in our town, "said the mayoress.
The big day of the parties will be next Saturday June 24, the feast of the birth of St. John the Baptist.
At 20:30 hours will be held the Mass Major, after which the vicar of the area, Jesus Aguilar, will bless the newly restored parish halls.
Then the procession will take place with the images of the patrons: Saint John the Baptist and Our Lady of the Rosary.
Diego José Fernández Expósito invites the residents of Campos del Río to participate in the big day of the fiestas and in the floral offering to the bosses that will be on Friday June 23 at 20:30 hours.
The parish priest also expresses his joy at the restoration of the parish halls and the façade of the Hermitage-Sanctuary of San Juan Bautista, the latter "thanks to the work of cultural patronage of the Limcamar business group."
