This week the mayor of Campos del Río, María José Pérez Cerón accompanied by the Councilor for Environment, Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Environment, Juan Mateo Flomesta Lacal together with the president of the Community of Irrigators of Campos del Río and Los Rodeos, Faustino Ortiz Irigaray, met with the Government delegate in the Region of Murcia, Antonio Sánchez - Solís and with the Colonel of the Civil Guard, Jesús Arribas to discuss different issues related to security in the rural areas of the local municipality.

At the meeting the problem of robberies that occurred in agricultural and livestock farms of the municipality that year after year have been happening and that directly affect these productive sectors of the municipality and therefore to the citizen security.

Pérez Cerón asked the delegate of the Government to take the necessary measures to prevent the occurrence of this type of theft to small farmers and ranchers who are seriously affected as they are illegally removed material necessary to carry out their daily work on their farms .

The first mayor proposed in the meeting to reinforce the surveillance in these rural areas of the municipality by a Civil Guard patrol that would allow to dissuade and control this type of infractions.

Peréz Cerón wanted to appeal to all the farmers and ranchers of Campos del Rio and the hamlet of Los Rodeos as well as to all citizens in general, so that "before any theft or anomaly that may suffer on their properties and exploitations, File a complaint in the dependencies of the Civil Guard, since the citizen's collaboration is fundamental and necessary to clarify this type of situations. "

On the other hand, both the mayor and the councilor for Environment, Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Affairs, continue to work on this and other issues related to citizen security by holding different meetings with the Civil Guard, so that in coordination with the Police Local of the municipality is reinforced the presence of these bodies in the most remote areas of the municipal term and a greater coverage to the citizens as well as it is working from the City council to coordinate the meetings with the farmers and the security forces where Preventive measures should be taken to prevent further theft.
