The Ministry of Water, Agriculture and Environment has tendered the works of improvement of irrigation communities irrigators Campos Rio-Los Rodeos and Aqueduct, which will begin before the end of the year.
The CEO Water, Andres Martinez, said that this project "will provide communities of the fundamental hydraulic infrastructures which allow for the granting of water from the industrial water treatment plant (WWTP) of Campos del Río in value ".
Water from the treatment plant, once treated, will go to irrigation communities irrigators Campos del Rio-Los Rodeos and Aqueduct, in the municipalities of Campos del Río and Albudeite.
"With this action the regional government contributes to alleviate the plight of drought suffering these irrigators, compounded by reduced contributions in the basin of river Mula, as in the rest of the Segura basin", stated the director of Water.
These infrastructures consist of the screed of a raft of regulation of 12,000 cubic meters, in order to increase regulatory capacity thereof, to cover periods with scarce water resources;
a pumping station and discharge pipe for the connection of said raft with another raft from which both communities of irrigators will have water.
The investment will benefit the 678 community members who are both communities of irrigators and an area of ​​582.6 hectares irrigation.
The budget of the work amounts to 636,817 euros and will be funded 63 percent by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).
