"The bonbon Mula" yesterday inaugurated the expansion of its new facilities in the town of Campos del Río.

The company dedicated to the transformation of plant residues from the food industry, primarily canneries and juices, collects, stores and eventually turns this waste into animal feed.

The new facilities are endowed with some greenhouses of 4,000 square meters for drying orange peel and lemon, a ship transformation of 600 meters, a reservoir dedicated to storing crust with an area of ​​4,000 meters to be completed with an adjoining concourse 5,000 square meters dedicated to organic storage, accelerate decomposition to generate composted and used as fertilizer.

At the opening were present the Town Planning, Construction and Services, Salvador Barquero, and the Environment, Water, Livestock, Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Juan Mateo Flomesta.

Later he accompanied them the mayor, Maria Jose Perez Ceron, along with other councilors of the municipal corporation.

Perez Ceron said that "companies like this are the ones that need our town" and thanked Cayetano Garcia, manager of Northwest Group Integral developed by the European program "Leader Plus" and the manager of the company, Pedro Gomez, "its firm commitment by investing in Campos del Río, generate wealth in the area and stable jobs that lead to sustainable growth with the introduction of industries like this, innovative and respectful of the environment that transforms and reuses the remains of the food industry new products generating zero waste ".

For his part, Pedro Gómez Guillamón, manager of the company, thanked the municipality of Campos del Río its support in this new project.

In all the facilities of "El Bombon de Mula" in Campos del Río add 140,000 square meters with over half a million euros investment.

It has a fleet of 8 trucks and these new facilities have allowed to double their production capacity while its workforce.

Among the future plans of the company is commissioning a plant dedicated to the use of organic wastes that are unsuitable for animal feed, to transform them into biomass energy contributing to sustainable development of the area and be generating new energies respectful of the environment.
