Yesterday the ordinary plenary session of the plenary session of the City Council of Campos del Río corresponding to the month of December was held, where after the previous plenary agreement unanimously, the Gold Medal was given and later appointed as Favorite Son posthumously to Juan Martín Atenza Almagro.
Under an emotional climate and with the presence of dozens of campers and campers who filled the plenary hall yesterday afternoon, the Mayor of the City of Campos del Río came, on behalf of the whole corporation visibly moved, to the delivery of the Gold Medal to the relatives of Juan Martín, after which he was officially appointed as the Favorite Son of Campos del Río.
Juan Martin Atenza Almagro was born in Campos del Río, on December 13, 1971, he graduated in Economic and Business Sciences from the University of Murcia.
In 1995, he began his professional career as Development Agent of the City Council of Campos del Río and Albudeite between 1995-1997, until he was elected to the post in Lorca City Council occupying positions of great responsibility, becoming Head of Service.
For his great professional and personal work the City of Lorca, on November 22, 2018, distinguished him, posthumously, with the diploma of distinguished services.
Lover of the sport and concretely of the cycling, he was Co-founder of the Cyrter Association Vértices Geodesic of Fields of the River.
Likewise, he actively participated with the Lorca-Santiago Association and the Los Maestros de Lorca Club.
He participated in articles of prestigious legal journals.
By agreement of the investigating body, different reports were requested in which the merits that justified this honor were accredited.
These reports and statements, which have been favorable to the awarding of the Gold Medal and the appointment of Favorite Son of the municipality, have had input to the City Council and are as follows: - Adhesion City Council Albudeite, 15-11-2018 - Adhesion City Council of Lorca, 11/12/2018 - Adhesion University of Murcia, Department of Financial Economics and Accounting.

And having ruled favorably the General Affairs Information Committee held on December 17, 2018. For all these reasons, the delivery was made and these acknowledgments are recorded in the Book of Honors and Distinctions, the title granted so that its delivery is recorded.
The other highlight included in the agenda was the approval with the votes in favor of the Municipal Socialist Group and the abstention of the Municipal People's Group, the collaboration agreement between the City of Campos del Río and the GPS company that will allow the construction, start-up and operation of a photovoltaic solar power generating plant with a power of 10 MW, which will be installed in the area known as 'Barril de Abajo', where the company will make an approximate investment of 6,425,000 euros.
At the end of the plenary session, the mayor of Campos del Río, María José Pérez Cerón, made an assessment of the result of the ordinary session, stressing that "the town of Campos del Río has today officially given the appointment of Favorite Son of the municipality to Juan Martín and we have given his family the well deserved Gold Medal to a person that every day we remember with the same affection and dedication that in life we ​​dedicated to each and every one of the campers and camperas.
This afternoon I had the honor of presiding over the plenary session of our City Council, which with the presence of our neighbors has made it possible to fairly recognize all that Juan Martín meant for Campos del Río "declared the mayor who, on the other hand, affirmed that" I do not want stop highlighting a very important announcement that we made public during the celebration of this plenary session;
the process that we have approved will allow us to start the works that will lead us to an investment by the private company of about 6.5 million in our town for the construction and installation of a photovoltaic solar plant that besides generating clean energy, will generate new opportunities for wealth and quality employment in Campos del Río, being this the first business investment of these characteristics that is carried out in the municipality after many years and from which we will give more details soon.
As far as I can tell, probably this was the most important municipal plenary session in the entire legislature, "concluded Pérez Cerón.
