The mayor of Campos del Río, María José Pérez Cerón announced this morning the creation in the municipality of a new healthy urban itinerary that will allow citizens to perform biosaludable exercise through the streets of the town, guided by ancient history and the most recent of Fields of the River besides being able to contemplate from the viewpoints the characteristic landscape of the badlands with which the locality counts.
The route that will have a distance of 1,500 meters, will begin in the Park of the Station and will run through the streets;
Station, Avenida de la Constitución, Calle Mártire, Sán Juan, Cruz, Plaza del Reloj, Church Square, Murcia Street, Rodeos, Avenida de las Polas and ending at the Guatazales Sports Center.
The project includes a series of actions that will be financed by the General Directorate of Sports of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, directed by Alonso Gómez, among which the signage in the entire itinerary with the placement of informative and indicative panels stand out that will allow the user to be properly guided, road markings will be made on the pavement to delimit the route in some areas while providing intermediate signage.
The informative posters will be descriptive of the itinerary in its initial point and in the end, where the total distance and information and recommendations will be considered of special interest for the athletes, thus complying with the requirements of universal accessibility.
In addition, the project will be completed with the installation of a set of urban furniture as fixed appliances for healthy sport that will include posters with the rules of use of these devices.
To make the route accessible during night hours, accessible and safer, the layout will renew the luminaries that are currently in a poor state of conservation and will be replaced by new ones with low consumption.
The first mayor has reported that "in a few months Campos del Río will have a new tourist attraction and outdoor sports with the creation of this space 100% accessible for all ages and we are sure, will have a great reception among athletes of the municipality and among those who come to know, allowing them to walk our streets, learn about our history and enjoy our landscapes and our characteristic views of lunar landscapes, "pointed out the mayor who stressed that" with this new action we respond to an existing demand in the municipality creating this attractive and ambitious outdoor space while expanding the tourist offer of the municipality with a new route in a clear commitment of this Government Team for the promotion of sport and healthy physical activities in the town to the time we continue to promote the tourism sector in the locality 'Donde Vive La Luna' and putting in value
our natural and historical attractions ", concluded Pérez Cerón.
