The City Council of Campos del Río officially denies the information that appeared in the regional press where it is reported erroneously of a supposed annual economic compensation that would currently be received by the mayor of Campos del Río, María José Pérez Cerón.
From the consistory country wants to clarify that neither the Mayor-President of the City Council nor the council of its Government Team today receive any economic compensation from the municipal coffers for the development of their government functions in front of the consistory.
We also want to clarify that neither the mayor nor the rest of the councilors are released from their jobs in private companies and other public administrations, even if they work outside the hours of their working day to work on their political responsibilities and of management in the City Council of Campos del Río.
Although it is true that during a period of time since November 2015 and ended in September 2017, the mayor received an economic compensation to be released and dedicated exclusively to municipal management in his position as Mayor-President of the consistory, Just as in a fair manner, managers and senior managers of any public or private entity receive this compensation with this type of responsibility.
In the right of transparency and free information to the citizen, this City Council considers the need for this kind of information to be disseminated, which we nevertheless consider incomplete and which meet the necessary nuances to clarify.
The mayor of Campos del Río has been forceful in stating that "Neither I nor any of the councilors that make up the Government Team charge a euro for our work in the City of Campos del Río, so I want to make it clear that the information published in the press is totally wrong, since the management, work and daily dedication of this local government does not cost the campers a penny a year. "
María José Pérez Cerón explained that "the current economic and financial situation of the City of Campos del Río does not make it advisable to give financial compensation to the members of the Municipal Government Team, so we decided to prioritize and dedicate the economic resources to the maintenance and improvement of the public services enjoyed by our neighbors, to the policies of momentum that our municipality deserves, as well as to assume and sustain improper competences of this local administration ".
The mayor has qualified that "far from populisms, in an act of public generosity and thanks to our people who chose us mostly in the polls;
Both my councilors and I assume our responsibility from the first day we arrived at the government working 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, committed to improving the quality of life of our neighbors, making Campos del Río a better place;
something that we are getting step by step with the desire, the strength and the illusion intact of the first day that we take the reins of this City Council.
That is why in the first stage of the legislature we have changed the work system in our City Council so that at the time when the Government Team is dedicated to their respective work outside the consistory, the citizen service continues to be provided with total guarantee and reliability thanks to the effort and professionalism of the civil servants with which this City Council has ".
With regard to this matter, the mayor of Campos del Río pleaded for the firm recognition by society in general of the political class and the dignity of the profession of politician that he said is "to work tirelessly to get results satisfactory through public management for the benefit of all citizens and giving priority to the general interest without leaving anyone aside.
Labor that must be recognized and rewarded by law with dignified rewards that allow the dignification of this profession as any other of public interest and that in many cases is developed by trained and qualified professionals from different sectors who sacrifice their professional career, dedication to their families and their free time for the noble task of serving others and managing general interests from public institutions under a high responsibility that extends 24 hours a day. "
