Pérez Cerón: "This year's edition, in which 200 young people will participate, promises to be the best in history"
The mayor and youth councilor, María José Pérez Cerón, accompanied by the mayor of Sports, Salvador Barquero, presented this morning the program of the 2018 edition of Campos Jove, one of the largest sporting events in the municipality that takes place during the course of two weekends;
from this Thursday, September 27 to Sunday, October 7.
This year the participation increases and grows thanks to more than 200 young people of the municipality divided into 8 clubs that will compete for the title of winning club of this XXIV edition and that will try to wrest it from the current owners, the 'El Lío' club.
To achieve this they will have to pass different tests in various sports disciplines and compete in other recreational, recreational, gastronomic, traditional and cultural cuisine along 6 intense and exciting days.
The clubs will have to face each other to get a score that will depend on the position where each test ends.
Once all the competitions that are celebrated under a festive atmosphere are finished, the organization of the Young Fields will announce the final classification and proclaim the winning club of this 2018.
The mayor highlighted in the presentation the novelties that this year's programming includes, such as the I Chirigotas Contest, a Dance Marathon for couples and a Paintball Tournament that will join the traditional tests that are so successful each year.
Pérez Cerón wanted to thank the participation of more than 200 young people who are included in the 8 clubs;

as well as "to the members of the organization and volunteers who help each year so that everything goes perfectly".
"This 2018 marks the 24th anniversary of one of the largest sporting events in our municipality, and that is why the Youth and Sports Councils have made an extraordinary effort in terms of organization and infrastructure so that Campos Joven 2018 is called to be the best in history without losing the values ​​and meaning of recent years, as this event is inclusive and seeks to promote sports participation of various age groups of our municipality in the same activity for two consecutive weekends, in addition to being characterized for its great variety of tests - more than thirty - which are mostly proposed by the participating clubs themselves that make success and fun are fully insured, "said the first mayor.
