The mayor has held a meeting with the organization to coordinate the passage of the test by the municipality and has announced the participation of Campos del Río in the fair of the corridor on October 5
Next October 6, at 6 o'clock in the morning, the second edition of the 90K Camino de la Cruz will be released, a popular race that was born last year to mark the Jubilee Year and which will return this year to Campos del Río with important novelties such as the two modalities with which the test counts;
the first one of 92 km with exit from the Cathedral of Murcia and the second a marathon of 42km that will begin in Mula at 10 in the morning, both with arrival at the Plaza del Arco in Caravaca de la Cruz and with a maximum term of 24 hours to complete the tour.
To date, there are more than 1,200 entries received although the deadline will end this Sunday, September 23.
The test will cover homologated roads of the GR 127 Road of the Segura River, the one between Murcia and Molina de Segura by the river, the GR 250 and the Greenway between Molina de Segura and Caravaca de la Cruz.
The participants will cross the collaborating localities of Ribera de Molina, Molina de Segura, Alguazas, Campos del Río, Albudeite, Mula, El Niño de Mula, Bullas, Cehegín and Caravaca.
During the tour and every 5 km, there will be 18 liquid and solid refreshment points, two of them located in the Los Rodeos station and in the Station Square of Campos del Río.
After the success of organization and logistics in the passage of the race for the municipality last year, the City of Campos del Rio is involved again this 2018 with this important sporting event, so the mayor of Campos del Río, María José Pérez Cerón, has chaired the coordination meeting between the technical and municipal services of the consistory and the organization of the 90K.
At the work meeting held in the plenary hall of the consistory, attended Antonio Garcia, sports technician of the council, Antonio Alfonso, agent delegated by the Local Police of Campos del Rio and representatives of the 90K Sports Association Camino de la Cruz , Pedro Vélez and Javier Vélez.
At the end of the meeting, the first mayor, made a positive assessment of it and highlighted "the high commitment that has this City Council with the 90K" while thanking the organization for the passage of the test for the second consecutive year by our municipality.
Regarding technical issues, Pérez Cerón pointed out the important and close collaboration in the coordination of the organization with the Local Police and Civil Protection bodies in terms of traffic control functions with the traffic cut of vehicles in all existing crossings in the passage of the test by the municipality with the aim of ensuring the safety of participants and the proper development of it, as well as the important work of the Department of Sports and volunteers in logistics and the preparation of necessary infrastructure .
The mayor announced the location of the two supplies that will be available in our municipal area, the first located in Los Rodeos Station that will have liquid and fruit;
and the second point in the Station of Campos del Río that will consist of solid provisioning (pasta) and drink.
On the other hand, Pérez Cerón announced that this year the City of Campos del Río will participate in the Corridor Fair, which will take place on October 5 in the Plaza of the Cathedral of Murcia, where the municipality will have a stand where will make known the sport and tourist offer of the municipality.
Finally, María José Pérez Cerón, emphasized the "strong commitment shown by this Government Team with sport in its different disciplines throughout the year that manages to bring to the municipality important events and appointments such as the 90K race that it allows us to make known the tourist attractions of our municipality to thousands of people ".
